Former President's Cup
player Bradley Hughes has committed to play in the inaugural 2010 United
States Match Play Championship, to be held June 29-July 3 at Pebble
Creek Country Club in Taylors, South Carolina, just outside Greenville.
To date, Hughes is the highest-profile player to commit to the event.
In 1994, Hughes, originally from Australia, was named to the President's
Cup team in 1994, representing the International team. A former PGA
Tour Player, Hughes also played on the Nationwide Tour, winning the 2004
Wichita Open. He also is a two-time champion of the prestigious
Australian Masters, winning in 1993 and 1998. |

The Championship |

A full field will consist of 128 players competing in two-round stroke play qualifier on Tuesday, June 29, and Wednesday, June 30. The low 32 will advance to the match play portion of the Championship. In case of a tie for the 32nd spot, a sudden-death playoff will commence immediately following play on Wednesday. Only those who qualify for the match play portion in a full-field event will be in the money.
In the event that fewer 128 enter the Championship, a two-round stroke play qualifier will still be held on Tuesday and Wednesday. In case of a tie for the final qualifying spot, a sudden-death playoff will commence immediately following play on Wednesday. All who qualify for match play will be in the money.
