2000 North American Golf Teachers Cup

The 2000 North American and Canadian Golf Teachers Cup played the 17th-18th of August was a tremendous success. Over 100 golf teaching professionals from across North America attended the event in Toronto, Canada at the Royal Ashburn Golf Course. The course itself turned out to be a real challenge and was in excellent condition. As always, the camaraderie between fellow participants was great and many new friends and business acquaintances were made. A special congratulation should go out to Max Carbone who won the inaugural North American Golf Teachers Cup Individual Championship on Friday. Max played a great round of golf to capture the championship. Paul Murphy won the Canadian Golf Teachers Cup on Thursday. He beat out a close contingent of players including Bob Turcotte, Chris Thomas and Wally Meisinger. On Thursday, the Team USA played Team Canada for the inaugural North American Team Cup. The matches were close but Canada edged out the USA 7 ½ to 4 ½. On another note, I would like to mention the contingent from Quebec, which included Brunelle (Chico) Regent, Claude Robert, Daniel Corbeil and others. Also on this list is the adopted son of Quebec, Dave Hill. Thanks should go out to Dave for helping behind the scene with the tournament details.
